Is there any point electing a Plaid MP?

Adam-oxfam[1]

Listening to Adam Price MP, the Plaid member for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, explaining his decision to leave Westminster I was astounded at the way in which he was honest about the lack of impact that can be made by Plaid in Westminster.  In an interview with Gwilym Owen, and I have translated his words from the original Welsh, he said;

"as a Plaid MP you are in opposition.  We go there to oppose"

Not much of a positive agenda for change from Plaid in that statement but he goes on to say;

" as a party we have an ambition to govern and we can only do that in Wales"

So there we have it.  At the next General Election it is clear that if you want to elect an MP who will complain, try and score cheap political points and generally oppose change then Plaid might well be your party of choice.  If, on the other hand you want your MP to influence the way in which the UK is governed then in Aberconwy the Welsh Conservative Party is the obvious choice.  I'm sure that Adam is not the most popular person with Plaid candidates at this point in time having highlighted so accurately the lack of contribution they can make if elected.

I was also taken by the comment that Plaid had "an ambition to govern".  What exactly are they doing now in the Welsh Assembly Government in Cardiff.  Playing their part or simply carrying the bags of their Labour Party masters?

Pa bwrpas ethol AS o Blaid Cymru?

Adam-oxfam[1]

Tra'n gwrando ar Adam Price AS yn cael ei holi gan Gwilym Owen ddoe rhaid cyfaddef i mi gael cryn syndod o glywed Adam yn tanseilio pob ymgeisydd seneddol sydd gan Blaid Cymru.  Wrth i Gwilym Owen holi pam ei fod am roi'r gorau i fod yn AS fe ddywedodd Adam, ac dwi'n ei ddyfynu;

"...fel aelod o Blaid Cymru mae rhywun yn aelod o'r wrthblaid.  Mynd yno i wrthwynebu mae Plaid Cymru"

Mae'n mynd yn ei flaen i ddweud mwy;

"..mae gan Blaid Cymru uchelgais i lywodraethu a dim ond yng Nghymru y gellir gwneud hynny"

Yr hyn sy'n hynod am yr uchod yw fod Adam wedi gadael y gath allan o'r cwd.  Yn syml iawn agenda 'negyddol' sydd gan Blaid Cymru yn achos etholiadau San Steffan.  Os ydych am anfon AS i Lundain i wneud mwy na 'gwrthwynebu' yna gwastraff fyddai rhoi pleidlais i Blaid Cymru.  Nid fi sy'n dweud hyn ond aelod etholedig mwyaf carismataidd Plaid Cymru.

Yma yn Aberconwy y mae'r neges yn glir.  Os am anfon rhywun i San Steffan i gwyno a checru yna ystyriwch ymgeisydd Plaid Cymru.  Os am ddylanwadu ar y modd y mae llywodraeth Prydain yn gweithredu gallwch gynnig eich cefnogaeth i Blaid Geidwadol Cymru.  Dewis syml ac ergyd go galed i ymdrechion Plaid Cymru fe dybiaf.

Dwi hefyd yn gweld y sylw fod gan Blaid Cymru "uchelgais i lywodraethu" yn ddoniol.  Be yn union mae'n nhw'n wneud yng Nghaerdydd ar hyn o bryd?  Cario bagiau eu meistri yn y Blaid Lafur?
