Janet Finch Saunders – Welsh Assembly Candidate

In a packed meeting at St. Paul’s Church, Craig y Don on Tuesday evening, Cllr. Mrs. Janet Finch Saunders was elected on first ballot to become the Association’s candidate for the Welsh Assembly Elections in 2011. This was first time that the Association had chosen a candidate by means of an Open Hustings and they were delighted with the public engagement and interest. The moderator was Rev. Tom Bonnet who was thanked by the Chairman, Cllr. Mrs. Margaret Lyon for his assistance.

On being elected Janet said “I am proud to have been elected as your candidate. I shall work tirelessly to represent the people of Aberconwy. But I can not do it alone. I need you to play your part as you have done tonight.” Cllr. Janet has been a County Councillor for the Craig y Don Ward since 2004 and a Town Councillor for much longer. She currently holds position 3 on the Regional List for the Welsh Assembly. There will be a page on the website with details about Janet, later on this month.

Save our Scenery. As i have been unsuccessful contacting SOS I am sending u my comment on wind turbines. For many years I have objected to the spread of ON Shore WTs. I have ls objections to Off Shore as I think that in time they will be replaced by a dual Wave/tidal/wind generator which will mean a less conspiciously visable structure.
I have become increasingly disillusioned with the Assembly & Government
    - they are together becoming less democratic & removed from the wishes of the Welsh. I get the impression that decisuions aree agreed with a nod & a wink over a glass of whisky @ the Millenium Stadium bar & the Maesdu Golf Club. Good old fashion Welsh political corruption is rearing its ugly head again. I am very concerned @ the lollipop proceedings on the floor of the Assembly…I should have discussed it with Lord Ellis Thomas who sat in front of me thye other week on the X! bus…that could only happen in Wales.
The main point of my comment is to inform u that I have an email from
Carwyn Jones’s Office confirming that Wales has a program to export On Shore WT energy to England.,..so we in Wales & in particular in the very precious & increasingly threatened Dyffryn Conwy have got to suffer blots on our landscapes to provide renewable energy for England. Jane Richardson AM is a little dictator & devious.
To add insult to injury indigenous residents of the Dyffryn are very concerned @ Conwy County’s policy to turn the Tribal Territories into a Butlins & Theme Parc for the Coast….. There is only one Dyffryn Conwy, one Crafnant Valley & one LLyn Parc. I trust also if u become an AM that you will introduce regulations to make the Forestry Commission more accountable to the Welsh culture, etc. Also why do we need so many quangos in Wales…. they have power without accountability….Who Does What in Wales is more of our national game than rugby.
    regards
