Vince Cable caught spinning.
The Liberals are very proud of Vince Cable. Their candidate here in Aberconwy is of the view that he does not need to know anything about the economy because Vince will deal with it! In the same way our North Wales Liberal AM, Elenor Burnham will invariably hide behind Vince Cable in any debate relating to the economy.
Last week he enjoyed added credibility with a story in the Observer which stated that Treasury officials had called him in to discuss a possible future in which he became a Chancellor in a hung parliament. It gave further credibility to the Vince myth.
However, today the Telegraph has revealed that the request for the meeting was made by one Vince Cable! The meeting lasted 20 minutes and now Mr Cable has issued an apology for claiming that the meeting was instigated by officials. Not a great start to a day when he will be part of the Chancellors debate on Channel 4 at 8pm.

Didn't detract in any way from the Chancellor's debates. Guardian poll gave him nearly 50% posaitive response from viewers. Question is - Guto - who would you trust as Chancellor Osborne or Cable ?
Osborne every time. Vince Cable is a populist Labour type who feels that some of the business people who run the largest companies in the UK have no right to a political opinion. He is also a serial flip-flopper on policy issues changing his position - often with no regard to his party policy.
